What is your role at PERI and how long have you been part of the team?
I joined PERI towards the end of 2022, so I’m relatively new to the company. I’ve really enjoyed my start so far with plenty of training and projects to get stuck into.
I’m the Sales Engineer covering the Yorkshire Region for any formwork, scaffolding or engineering requirements.
What do you like about your role?
The best parts of my role are looking at a variety of projects and being able to assist the customer with a wide range of solutions. With a technical background, I enjoy being involved in complex structures and solving problems with customers and learning in the process whilst building relationships internally and externally.
What does a typical day look like?
There are no two days the same in this industry. However, the ideal day would be a day full of planned site and office meetings which result in plenty of enquiries and new projects to look at.
What is the best advice you've received?
I’ve always tried to take away advice or guidance from the most knowledgeable and experienced people I’ve met in either work or personal life. All those people have the common traits of hard work, consistency and pride in what they do.
What is important for you to be successful in your role?
For me, success is having respect from your peers and customers within the Formwork Industry. To be regarded as someone who can be trusted to perform and deliver on their projects or requirements. In turn, creating loyalty and respect through building relationships with existing and new customers.
What is one thing you have always wanted to try but haven't yet?
I’ve always wanted to travel to the following places: Hawaii, Fiji and New Zealand and I hope to do so in the coming years and have my kids experience these places too.
